One of the shorter component rides of the ‘Great Ride’ Queenstown trail network, nonetheless, this ride is still very much worth doing given the scenery.

Trail Notes

On a calm day, the lake is renowned for offering the classic ‘lake reflection’ Instagram worthy images. A popular multi-use trail so watch for walkers as well. This undulating track will take you about 45 minutes to complete and is considered well worth the investment.

Starting at the Rutherford Road end of the trail, you’ll cruise around past the Wakatipu Rowing Club and then onto Bendemeer Bay before arriving at Lake Hayes Reserve which has wonderful picnicking spots and toilet facilities for those who need a break. Continue on the rest of the loop to return to your starting point.
